Hi :)

Why such a small and very strange max size ???

Bandwidth and server space is pennies these days ?

All the best Brett :)

The bandwidth isn't an issue but the server space is if we want the board to work at a resonable speed after 100,000 posts have been logged.

To put the board onto a seperate server costs about £1k a year more than we are paying now.

Hi
Went to uploads, browsed files, clicked upload now, and had the message "Your session has timed-out
Please login again" Tried it three times and same result ..

I used 800x500 pic as that's about the minimum I'd use.
Any ideas?

Also there doesn't seem to be any option to add an images or images to a post, either when replying or starting a new topic.

Rich I'm not sure what you are looking at, the Img tab is where you put the url for the image. I have posted images in both new and mid topics.

The time out is set at 16 minutes. Unlees you are uploading an image which is too big. The log in page on the web site that comes up after you have timed out is an error that needs fixing by the looks of it.

It looks like you have to log out of the forum and back in again to clear the time out.

The image size is big enough for the purpose of the forum, for the reasons already highlighted.

Another excuse to show the speedster to demonstrate that the instructions are fine.

Rich and anybody else struggling with posting photo's, the easiest way I have found is to open an online photo album (I use photobucket) then copy your photo/s onto it by using the upload images from my PC, press browse, pick your photo and open, you can upload between 1 and 20 at a time. Once stored use the automatic set up beneath each picture, whether you need the URL code for an avatar or the img (image) code to put a photo in your posting, easy

I already use pbase.com for my photos and upload in exactly the same way. But its a long route for most folk if hey just want to attach an image to a post. The other main board I use works like P-1.net - browse to the image on your hard drive, upload, then manage by clicking on the list of uploads to insert the image.

I think it needs simplifying or it won't encourage pic uploading.
Grrrr.. just tried same thing with 600x450 image and still won't play ball ....

Nope - my file size is 800x600 so 0.5mp, and it doesn't uplaod. Gives me the timeout message then takes me back to square one ie home page away from forum, so needs a fix.

Your file size is 0.2mp so maybe its happy with that size. Its very small though for most image output these days though. [/img]

This is a car forum that needs to upload quickly, P-1 was exactly the same.

The size of photo we are uploading is large enough to show off someones pride and joy.

For those that want to show us high res images of cars give us a link to your web site and we'll happily tag it to the web site gallery.

My cab pic was 600x450 loaded fine.

This upload system is the only way this forum can do it.
