Post subject:  Dinner with the Gurkha's

Following on from Paul's Easter rant we now have an evening meal for you at the Crossed Khukris Restaurant in Abbey street, Nuneaton, CV11 5BX.

Their web site is http://www.thegurkhas.co.uk

Details are as follows

The date will be Saturday 17th May 2008 at 1930 hours

The meal will be designed as a banquet

The approximate cost is £16 per person excluding gratuities and drinks

The restaurant has a drinks licence and serves beers and wine

The number of guests is likely to be limited at 16 to 20 persons. The place is very, very popular

The event is open to all.

Therefore I will reserve places on a first come, first served basis

To reserve a place please send me a personal message through the forum. I will need the names of all prospective guests together with preferences in terms of mild, fairly hot, hot, very hot and very very hot food. (bring your own frozen loo rolls). This information will help design the banquet.

I will close the dining list at 1700 hours on Friday 18th April and book the table(s) that evening

Hoewever, I will try and get everyone who wishes to go, a seat at the table.

After a booking has been made I will keep this topic updated for those attending and advise on matters such as parking and directions to the venue.

I was in town this morning and a few Gurkhas were there.

One was in full dress regalia as a piper.

They had been joined by a few British ex service men who had organised a petition to secure public signatures in an effort to get Gurkhas better treatment from the UK authorities

Did I sign the petition, you bet, damn well I did
