This is a great event, we've enjoyed it for the past 2 years & will be there for this one. TAKE A TRIP TO BROOKLANDS! ON NEW YEAR’S DAY Please find attached the details for Brooklands on New Years Day, I’ve asked if we get the cheaper entry as a club? Note to park in the circuit car park you must have your membership card, otherwise you’ll be down the road with the modern tin tops. Keep an eye out for TIPEC parking, I’ll try & get there early with the banner. For a breath of fresh air and a change of scenery why not come to Brooklands Museum on New Year’s Day! This is now a very popular day on the calendar for Car Clubs, organisations, enthusiasts - and makes a change from the usual trip to the local pub, also its a great reason to escape the repeats on T.V! The Museum will be open from 10am – 4pm, with last admission at 3pm. The Sunbeam Tea Rooms will be open for Hot and Cold food with additional eating facilities in the Chequered Flag room with a Bar! There is no need to pre-book; you can just turn up on the day. For this event we have arranged a special concession – for occupants in a PRE – 1973 vehicle entry prices will be Adults £6, Seniors £5, Children £4, 5 & under are free Please note Pre-1973 vehicles and Car Clubs please use our entrance on B374 Brooklands Road. Car Club Members please bring your current/valid Membership card as proof you are a Member of the Car Club that is being represented at the Museum on the day. |

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed today at Brooklands. It's the first time I've managed to get to an event and it was fantastic to see so many beautiful car. I've got a wish list as long as my arm. It's my policy never to carry my 'big cameras' on my days off, but there's always a little Ixus in somebody's pocket, so here are some images from today .... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Jim, I'm so sorry I missed your car! I saw it, and it's gorgeous. The cold got the better of me I'm afraid, I still haven't thawed out - I promise I'll make up for it and get some great shots of your little beauty next time. Regards, Lindsay |

I'll let you off ![]() Is the effect done in Photoshop? I love the "frosty" effect especially on no. 4 |

I love the "frosty" effect especially on no. 4 Jim, initially the files are run through Lightroom where I'll drop or boost the colour, then in Photoshop I'll play around with levels and curves to bring out certain tones, then I finish with some dodging and burning. The effect brings up both highlight and shadow detail, which can look great on shiny cars, but can also wash them out, so sometimes I'll put the unprocessed image in a layer underneath the processed one, and paint back the original bits where I want them, then adjust the opacity until the 'blend' is right. These were casually shot as low res JPEGS (which are intolerant of being stressed like this), so the results are going to be much better when more data is captured (shooting 14-bit RAW through decent glass). |
