Donington Historic Festival -2017

Post by PaulPSB »

The festival runs for three days at the end of April and full details can be found here: http://www.doningtonhistoric.com/

We have decided that Sunday 30th April will be the "official club day" for TIPEC so please use the discount code in the latest All Torque issue to book your tickets and join us at the Festival.

Should be a great day out with plenty of track action to watch, trade village, club displays and much more.

Regards

Paul

Our pitch (41) is behind the Bentley Drivers Club and on the opposite side of the road to our friends at PCGB.

Have a great weekend, the turnout is by far our best yet for this event. :thumbright:

I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone that came along over the weekend, especially today, to support the club.

A great display of cars that we should be proud of and an even better bunch of folk to meet and chat with.

Special thanks to Stef, Gareth and Dave from Cheshire & Staffs who organised the loan of the restored 928 from OPC Leeds and to all the RO's and regions that were present over the weekend - you all did the club proud.

Finally a massive thanks to Jason Gibson for being there all three days ( he even dragged his father in law along to help) - Top man :thumbleft:

It was a great event, all those who helped with organising and setting up the stand etc did a fantastic job. Was great to see you all too.

A huge "thank you" to all involved in organising the club stand this year. It was a very impressive display with the club tent and many banners plus a great turn out of Porsches artfully displayed on three levels by Mr. Gibson ;) It was also one of the best club events I have been to for simply "talking Porsche" with members from other regions. I said it at the time but it is worth saying again, we outshone some much larger clubs today.

With regards to praise, we should thank Paul.

It was his idea to use DHF as a piggy back event for the North. Hopefully the momentum builds and this becomes a calendar fixture.

Well done guys.

Was a great weekend and excellent turnout from all over especially with so many other events clashing with it, hopefully productive with regards to new members, and something we can grow on somehow for a northern show.

Thanks to Paul, Jason and all others for the organisation and putting on a good show enough to worry other clubs  great turnout of cars people and friends. I personally look forward to more

A great weekend and for a first time at the venue I think we can call it a success.

Well done Paul for making this happen and to all others that played their part.
Our display was just that, a display, rather than a car park. A superb selection of well turned out cars.

It wasn't until I walked away that I could see how good it was, Paul was away watching some racing and I popped away with Glenn to catch a few minutes. Looking back at the stand from a distance, it was bustling with various RO's, ARO's and members socialising and chatting away to non members.

Great to meet lots of new people and put faces to names of those I've spoken with but not met before.

We had a convoy of 7 Porsche cars from the North West region, including Parts Manager Adam from Porsche Centre Bolton who was kind enough to bring along a racing yellow 718 Cayman to display on our pitch.

As Stef has mentioned above - the DHF did clash with a big VW event which meant that one or two of the North West 'regulars' were already booked up and couldn't attend.

I do have to say that there was such a good vibe around the tipec gazebo and display all through Sunday - there were lots of members I chatted to who I have only met once or twice, or not at all, who were really friendly. I also received lots of positive feedback from visitors to our pitch who had not enjoyed their visit to another club marquee.

Well done Paul and all involved at organisational level!
