This is a weird one, I know.
Some of you may know my Stepdad died recently, on his way to a car show at Hatton.
He was into Toyota MR2s, amongst other things, and used to run the owner’s club. On his way to a show for the 25th anniversary of the MR2 Roadster owner’s club, he had a massive heart attack, pulled over to the hard shoulder, and passed away right there and then.
Some of the other MR2 owners decided to hold a ‘memorial’ event.
Saturday 23rd July at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire.10am onwards. £6 entry. All-marques open car show, with an afternoon cruise and a BBQ at the end.
We’ve already held a funeral, but this is for the various car clubs he was in to have a get-together and say their goodbyes.
Now, I realise none of you knew the guy … but I thought I’d mention it just in case anyone is nearby in the Midlands, or fancies a weekend drive. I’ll be going down, obviously.
They have room for 800 cars and there is no way on earth the MR2 clubs will fill it on their own – so the doors are open. Anyone who loves cars will be made very welcome, and will help to see my Stepdad off in style.
