After all the positive feedback from the Club day at Blyton Park in 2013 there is clearly interest in a track day event but as a club not enough to justify a "Tipec only" event.

I am therefore in the early planning stages of an open pit lane day at Blyton Park for April/May 2015 to be shared with another club/group so that we end up with a Club orientated event but don't risk club funds.

I would just like an idea of how many would be up for this?

TIA

If you cant get the numbers to justify it one alternative worth mentioning is :-
Don't have to pay £hundred+ to enjoy track outings :-
Cheap Track Days :-
Javelin ? Track evening at Cadwell Park £49 if booked early.

Join DPRAC (Donington Supporters Club) £15/yr then pay £30 for their Track Day) usually late in the year eg 22 Oct in 2012 19 Aug 2013 and 18 Aug this year which I unfortunately missed due to Holiday in Scotland (Bad timing! or what! :x )

I'd be up for a trackday, though can't guarantee I'd be in a Porsche though :? Like Blyton too, date dependant of course.

If it's middle to late May I will be interested, drive up the night before stay local, same as our last 2 944 track days at Bedford.

3 - 3 1/2 hr drive for me, but worth it!

Happy to commit to a day at Blyton with the 911. Could be tempted to bring the MX5 as well! Keeping the event to tipec plus one other club could have prospects. Maybe canvas interest from, say, local pcgb region, BMW car club etc?

This event has now been sorted and here is a link to the booking website.

http://www.mazdaontrack.co.uk/tipec-and-invited-guests-trackday---blyton-park-23rd-may-2015-635-p.asp

Please note this event has been formatted to only allow Porsche & Marcos cars on track so that we can keep the "Club feel" to the event as far as possible. This was to try and encourage as many members as possible to have a go at a track day without the risk of being swarmed over by Caterhams, Westies & hot hatches etc. :D

If you want to bring a non Porsche/Marcos you must clear this with me before booking or risk being refused on track

Hope to see lots of you at Blyton in May!

Having never been to one ('cept as a spectator) - do folk sort out special insurance for these events? Ta

Wayne - you were at the last one. Did anyone crash or hit anything? Was the standard of driving/etiquette good? Were the marshals keeping an eye on things? Was there plenty of run-off? Weigh up the risk...

There's a risk at a track day and it's up to you if you insure against that risk. Some day to day policies include a track day or two anyway.

I'd be much more likely to insure my car at somewhere like Oulton on a general track day (but I didn't last November and all was fine).

Booked for me and Diane!

Last year Her Ladyship was the only female driver on track all day. Will we see any other TIPEC Ladies on track at our second club track-day?
