I attended today after receiving a code for free tickets.

What a crap event this has turned into, it's like the old Birmingham/London Motor Show. Admittedly it might be a little kore interesting with stuff going up the hill but I would rather watch proper racing.

Getting in and out was appalling, very badly organised.

Very few trade stands, not surprising at £2000+ for a 5x5 meter pitch

They have ruined what used to be a brilliant event. The guys on the BMX's and trial bikes were the stars of the show, crazy buggers

Confused Sean, today was the moving motor show, the main event of going up the hill kicks off tomorrow. Maybe you didn't realise that?
Paul & I went today, left Chatham at 6:30, drove straight in & parked up at 8:35 by the Moulcombe entrance after a cracking drive, wandered in & was eating a very expensive (£6.00) breakie bacon & egg roll with a cuppa (£2.00) at 9 or so. Lots to see, seemed more exhibitors than last year, admittedly some with bu99er all to do with cars. Stands are extortionate but a lot of companies we spoke to were there for the first time. Scenic & Continental Car tours being one we spoke to.
Lots of room to move around & watch the guys prepping some lovely machinery, some of the F1 cars for instance. Had a perv at the Micheliin Supercar stand & the 25 years of MX5 stand. Had a wander around the other stands, Paul looking at a floor tile & skirting system for his garage!
Wandered around the two Porsche stands full of Porsche porn, looked at Lotus, Tesla, Alfa, Jaguar, Toyota. Took millions of pics of the 919 on the Porsche VIP stand. Sat in the stands & watched some of the road stuff go by, from a Dacia to Aston Martin Vantage. Left at 15:30 drove straight home & got back at 17:45 Seemed to be plenty to see!

I'm heading over Saturday courtesy of a friend.

Taking my 3y/o daughter plus my sis and her boyfriend.

Never been before - looking forward to the sound and smell of some V8/V12s.

I knew it was the moving motor show.

I also had a chat with Scenic and liked the glass top tables and the fridge disguised as a Speaker :)

Been watching coverage today. Is it me or does it feel very samey? I used to go every year 8+ years ago then stopped due to family and work commitments. Went back again last year. Watching again live on youtube. Watching it live at home makes me feel I don't need to queue for hours getting in and out, getting covered in dust when its dry or covered in mud when its wet. Plus I don't have to queue for overpriced food or cold drinks at home, just shout the the missus for sustenance!! No sore feet due to walking/standing for 12 hours a day :D

I wish I had stayed in bed. :)

I guess some people are easily pleased or have different expectations. one mans bland is another mans salty :)

The Lotus stand looked pathetic sat between the giants of the Motor Industry. It all felt like a day out at the local Retail Dealerships with a paddock of racing cars that you have seen before.

I thought the food choices were ok, the toilets were poor though. No idea how they are going to cope on the busier days.

Overall I felt the event lacked any atmosphere/soul. In my opinion is nowhere near as good as it was when it had lots of car clubs and a trade village which took hours to walk around.
