Post subject:  European road tour.

As I might have mentioned, I went on a wee trip through the Alp's to see the F1 in Monaco and back again. To summarise,
Day 1; Glasgow to Hull for the ferry.
Day 2; Rotterdam to Stuttgart, via the Nurburgring.
Day 3; Stuttgart to Innsbruck, visit to the museum and factory in the morning.
Day 4; Innsbruck to Turin.
Day 5; Turin to Nice, via the Col De Turini.
Day 6&7; Monaco F1.
Day 8; Nice to Reims.
Day 9; Reims to Glasgow, via the Chunnel.

Day 3 was my birthday, so loved every minute. The roads were great and the car was unbelievably good to drive on the roads.

Cracking photo's :)

We were going to stop at Reims on our way over and take the obligatory in front of the stand photo. A new road has been built on the autoroute which satnav did not pick up and we went sailing past. :(

We will pick this off next time we are passing.

Quick tip to help. I sent someone climbing over the fence to get the photos. After he had fell in the nettles and lost his camera, we found out that if you go behind the pits you can walk through the tunnel and come out on the other side of the road!!!! Oh how he laughed once we seen this.............not. I wish someone had told me before I went.

Other thing I've mastered is a free program called Tyre. It takes a google map and turns it into a file for the Garmin or Tom Tom. I had every day planned in advance and it made finding places I wanted to go much easier.

I think between us all we could organise some amazing trips. :D

You lucky man, great photos. Are the stripes permanent or just for the trip?

You have to be careful when in Europe, that recession thing.... people are desperate - there's a dodgy looking bloke in a couple of the photos looks like he's about to nick your car

Stripes were just for the trip, they'll come off once I get the chance/energy. Which brings me to your second point, the fat man in the photos needs some of your training tips. It's no fun being last to the train station and having to stand all the way because there are no seats left. :( I hope by the time the next trip comes, I'll be a wee bit fitter and look less dodgy.

I've posted this on a few sites and people can't seem to believe we got away with it? A friend and I got up early on the Saturday of the F1 qualifying and done a few laps of the F1 circuit. As it is the streets of Monaco, they open back up after the qualifying and race. So here is a friend and I having a wee bit of fun.

Great fun Lindsay. I would never have thought of it, but apparently it was on my friends "bucket list". :)
