What if you don't turn on the Nitrous? Until they put the meter away

Brett: Supertrap the tail pipes? A mate of a mate's twin hayabusa engined Caterham gets through the tests that way.

Come on - if you were really keen you'd do it - or have you actually carried out the some of the calcs I suggested in respect of your new rev limit and got the willies!?!

On another note; when you say "Indy style" at the top of the topic chaps, do you mean 4 corners, all of the same persuasion, or is the layout a little more higgledy piggledy? Just enquiring so's the race engineers can set up their cars with stagger / odd sized rolling radius tyres left to right etc!!

Hi :)

I need a very free flowing exhaust to get rid of the excess gasses produced by the Nitrous, I "CANNOT" quiten the exhaust, as I do not want a very big bang...lol

I am so keen to do this run at 200 mph plus, I would give a donation to Tipec funds if they can persuade Bruntingthorpe to cough "ignore" my noise for just one run...and if they can persuade them to let me use their timing gear (to give a final speed) I would give another donation....

I havent got the "willies" lol, I have spent thousands getting the car to where it is capable of 200 mph plus, nuts I may be , scared i`m not :)

All the best Brett :)

The Indy Circuit has 7 corners 5 right and two left.

There is a 2 mile straight, the other straight is broken by an L.

This issue of AT has an ariel shot of the track.

Cheers Sean. Got home and saw the article - do they lay the course out with cones or similar on the day then? On the aerial shot it looks like a 2 mile long runway (wasn't it a designated emergency landing spot for the space shuttle at one time?) with a sort of massive lay-by halfway down it. That's the tarmac then, plus there's also what looks like concrete (?) all round the runway edges and a similar coloured road/path cutting across the runway about 2/3 of the way down?

As an aside, the recently restored to flying condition Vulcan Bomber XH558 lives at Brunty and won't be doing displays until at least June according to the latest info - hence may be in its hangar when TIPEC drop by... Not sure if enquiries need to be made, or whether people can just turn up... http://www.tvoc.co.uk

No can do Brett. Brunty had a massive legal battle last year with the local council over noise levels so they won't bend the rules an inch :(

Hi :)

The problem is that Bruntingthorpe WON that court battle as the Judge threw out the local residents claims that it was too loud.

Even though they won, in my opinion they are now chickening out, as an example, at the VMAX (Top Speed) days none of the big cars can now run due to the 98 Db limit.
So most of the Ferraris, Lambos etc cannot run there.

Although at the "private" days, where its hired by big Car companies and the like ....there are NO noise limits...:(

All the best Brett :)

Does that mean they nolonger run the Lightnings down the runway? They are a little noisier than 98Db, and The Vulcan for that matter.

I see an opportunity for a house swap here. I wouldn't mind living next door to Bruntingthorpe and wouldn't moan if loud cars and planes where in my back yard.

That’s genius.

Who’s up for financing a property development company, focused on buying up cheap property alongside racetracks, arranging residents’ discounts with said tracks, then renting it on as crash pads for petrolheads?

Apparently they dont count, although someone once told me that a Vulcan was the loudest bomber ever... lol :)

All the best Brett :)

Hi :)

You have hit the nail on the head, the "locals" who objected all bought their houses recently and if you buy a house next to a track you have to expect noise...IMHO..

But think of it from their point of view ...IF they can get the track shut down, what would that do to the value of their houses...?

All the best Brett :)
