Post subject:  Castle Combe Action Day April 24th

As there are several new 928 owners on here I thought I'd ask if anyone would be interested in attending the Action Day at the Castle Combe circuit on the 24th April (see http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/events/Action_Days/3.htm).

If we can get a few interested 928 owners together we can go as a "club", which means our own parking spot in the display area, plus the possibility of free entry and reduced price track sessions (if you're brave enough and your car passes the noise test). Historically there used to be about six of us who would turn out, but as some have sold their cars, had children, moved on etc. the numbers have dwindled, hence the incentive to see if anyone would like to join us.

Please note this is not a TIPEC meeting - I don't think I've ever seen a TIPEC presence at one of these events, so I hope I'm not treading on any toes here - it's an invitation to meet up with a few other 928 owners based in the southwest in a totally informal manner arranged normally through e-mail; you don't have to be a member of any club (apart from the exclusive group of people who recognise just what a great car the 928 is :D ), just be prepared to turn up in your 928 if it's running!

Feel free to PM me if you have any queries.

Hi,
I will keep an eye on this. I don't think my car will be ready by then, but if it is I will be there.
Fingers crossed!

Regards
Paul

:) Hopefully my car will be sorted by then and if I can talk my mate into getting his GT back on the road we'll come up. :)

Some "possibly"s then; you could always come along if your 928s aren't ready, you may have to park in the public car parks though.

For those of you who are also on the 928uk mailing list, Mike, one of the action day regulars, has just posted a much more inviting invite for the same event.

Hi David, due to a lack of people we've decided not to bother with a group parking spot and just go individually (if at all).

There is another Action Day on June 12th, so we might have another go then and see if a few more people have their 928s on the road :?

Also, I don't know if you follow the 928uk mailing list, but today there was some talk of a get together at/near Paul Anderson's in Stroud. However, as someone recently said, organising 928 owners is a bit like herding cats, so that may also turn out to be an idea that never comes to fruition.

Failing that, there are usually two annual 928 meets later in the year, Tilford in Surrey and the Merry Miller in the Oxfordshire area, but that's quite a long time to wait.

And I almost forgot, if you like taking your 928 abroad there's the Euro 928 event near Amsterdam at the end of May, but I don't think many UK owners will go to that.
