They are clearly having a laugh, but in the hope that somebody might bite. Like the person who paid over £4,000 for one of Winston Churchill's partially smoked cigars at auction last month.

Its not really a silly price....I think I paid £175 for mine and I have seen them go for over £400...they are fairly rare....

Probably a typo? They meant £999 or £9999 perhaps?

It's a wonderful book, and only one edition was printed.

When I've seen copy in motoring booksellers it's usually round £200 if cover good condition.

Having said that, I got my copy on eBay for £36 with small tear in jacket. My best 928 eBay bargain apart from the fully populated CE panel I got for about £35.

Sounds like I am wrong on that one then! Looking at the listing they are a bookseller so unlikely to post silly prices I guess.

Or offer bargains either :( I have a couple of books here that go for massive money on Ebay or ABE One is quite old but the other isn't but has big demand & they won't reprint it.

Think I paid about £20.00 for mind in 1992. Could be worth a small fortune now?
