Does anyone know about "Limp Home Mode" on a Porsche 928 S4? I got this from a forum in USA and not sure if it could be the problem with mine

Hi :)

That mode will ONLY run 4 cylinders...you can actually count the cylinders firing at idle...as in 1,2,3,4 not 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8...etc

If its juts misfiring its NOT limp home mode....

All the best Brett :)

Limp home mode is when the MAF output voltage fails and the LH ECU senses this, and goes into a default program. It might give the symptoms you describe.

What Brett is describing is 4 cylinder mode associated with MY89 and later cars with the "ignition protection relay".
