Post subject:  Wheel bearings

Hi All,

Can anyone shed light on front wheel bearings for an 85 S2?

Seems to be bearings on their own and kits that seem to vary between Porscheshop and Design 911 for example.

Any thoughts welcomed...

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul

Bearings for my '84 wear as follows:

Image

4 = (Inner Bearing) Part No. 999 059 090 00 Approx. £20
5 = (Outer Bearing) Part No. 999 059 067 00 Approx. £18

I recommend your replace the seal as well (6) Part No. 477 405 641 Approx. £10

Unfortunately this is not a DIY job as the bearings have to be heated and pressed in and out using a ..... press.

I just sent my hubs along with the parts to my local Porsche garage and they did the swap for me for a few quid.

Make sure you use the correct type of bearing grease! Do your research.

The bearings are quality German parts .....made in Japan!

Good luck.
