Another odd ebay 928. Description a bit unusual. Ebay item no. 190369997895. Porsche 928 S2. Listed with 10 months MOT and "no rust" plus the seller is willing to pay for the insurance....basically saying he's insured it until October and he'll let you go on the insurance if you win the car? He's owned the car for 8 years but the service history has been lost during a house move.
Has reached £1,000 reserve met but the "distributor leads" seem to be "damaged" although the listing says it drives well. Worth a look at £1,000?

Hi :)

That ad seems to have been written by a non driving teenager....(tax etc)

It has a LOT of condensation in that car , plus a fairly awfully rough interior...

Whomever buys that will have to spend at least 3k to get it right :(

I wouldn't give a grand for it to be honest...

And thats without seeing all the missing pics, like engine, under hatch etc...

All the best Brett :)

:) As Brett said the road tax is not a rolling 25 years it only applies to cars pre 1972, I doubt very much that an insurance company would entertain a simple swap of policy holder as opposed to adding an additional driver. The condensation that Brett spoke of appears to have got into the leather as well and would either need replacing or carefully drying out and then plenty of leather feed before re connylising. IMO what he classes as a small project is likely to be far more than that........... :)

It seems popular. Gone to over £1,000 already. I emailed the seller and he said that it WON'T RUN as the "distributor leads appear have been damaged" but it ran really well before that! He said I could probably sort it out when I collected the car, and then drive it away.
If I wanted to know how the damage had occurred I needed to ring him on his mobile. I decided not to. This sounds like somebody who has been given the task of selling the car and has no idea. Maybe the owner died or something. Who would offer to pay the insurance? Why not just cancel the policy?
Anyway, I'm looking for another 928 to use daily, but it won't be this one.

I see he's now offering to fit new HT leads, I guess he hasn't seen how much they cost !!!
