:) As above really, I spotted a photo of a 928 on an American website and it had rear mudflaps fitted to it, I'm blowed if I can find the photo again, and I can't find a part number by searching google. Would anybody have a number for this part and also does anyone know if you can still buy these anywhere?
Thanks. :)

Trust Lindsay to have spotted that detail on Derek's 928!

Good luck finding a pair. It's true that Decasmo (come in Derek) had pair from Porscheshop but I wonder where they found them or if they had pair on the shelf - they were discontinued in 90s and in 2005 there were 5 left in Germany (5 single, not pairs).

They were option code 360 - "splash guard corner pieces". They were fitted as standard only to C13 (Finland) cars as legislation there demands they are fitted if wheel arch opening large enough to risk stones being thrown up.

Part numbers 928 559 383 02 and 928 559 384 02

When someone checked availability in 2005 another problem was that none of the official factory fitting kits were left.

Derek's may turn out to be unique on a UK 928!

Edit
----

Have just run part numbers through Porsche database and they are showing at £31.70 each! Maybe they manufactured another batch since 2005? Whatever just give your OPC a call and ask them to check - Porscheshop will put a mark-up on the Porsche price, and the OPC will also give you a TIPEC discount of 10% if you ask (or at least Sutton Coldfield and Solihull do).

Just had this message from Roger Tyson who runs one of the US 928 parts suppliers - 928s R Us. Seems to be same price there as here - sometimes there's a big difference.

Important thing is there seems to be plenty of stock now - they must have decided to reinstate.

Hi,
The mud flaps are readily available.
928 559 383 02 $57.63 each and there are 86 sitting in Germany.
928 559 384 02 $57.63 each and there are 105 sitting in Germany.
Hope that helps.
Roger

:) A quick couple of questions, where do I get a copy of the 928 parts list that people often refer to and as it will presumably need to come by post so a couple of day's at least before I can get it, does anybody have the part numbers of the fitting kits for LH & RH rear mud flaps on a GTS. I want to order the mudflaps but as it doesn't have any at the moment I'm assuming I'll need the fittings kits as well.
Thanks in advance for any help. :)

The parts list (often referred to as PET = Porsche Electronische Teile) is a free download on Porsche's website. It's in the Classics section. No need to wait for post as it arrives on your drive as a pdf file. Very handy as it means it's searchable by description, part number or just fragment of number.

It doesn't contain the part numbers for mudflaps or fitting kits as these were optional.

:) Thanks for the reply, you kindly gave me the part numbers for the mud flaps, any idea about the part numbers for the fitting kit or do they come with them? :)

Sorry I don't know the p/ns for fitting kits.

Suggest you contact an OPC Parts Dept. If you give them numbers for the flaps then should be easy for them to find the fitting kits, and whether or not they are included (I suspect not, as at one point there were flaps available in Germany, but no kits which implies they were not packaged together).

When you phone the OPC if you give them your chasis number it will speed the ordering process up.

All parts listed on PET and your pdf version

It was a kit, now available as separates and the total price for all parts as per PET 3rd page in on the 928 section

All parts come to about £200 plus VAT

That's interesting 911perv - a search for the mudflap part numbers in both my 91 and 95 PET yields no results!

I can't find the mudflaps on any of the pages showing body exterior either.

I wonder if you have the PC version which is more of an application than just a document? 3rd page in just shows various stickers - there's no 928 section as such as entire document is dedicated to 928.

Well, well, well you are dead right, but my version of PET has an error!

In my 1991 MY version the mudflap is shown on exactly the page you describe (MG 0, SG 02, illustration 2-00).

The mudflap is labelled 4 on this page (along with snow chains - could have been handy recently - trailer couplings etc) but Sod's Law has determined that this part has been left out of the list by part number. Goes from 3 (wheel nuts/locks) then straight on to 5 (chains).

That's why the part never showed up when I searched by part number.

The PET for 1995 MY doesn't show this illustration at all.

I don't have 83-86 PET because it predates the MYs of both 928s I've owned.
