I've been looking at a while 928 S4 (on ebay at the moment) I bid on it before but lost. It sold a few months ago but the seller that the "buyer" never came up with the money.
Anyway, I've got one now but I have a friend who is interested. It's just been reduced by £1K, to 5K, and it's just had the cam belt done/aircon rebuilt with bills for £2,000.
One thing, the seller says it's had new sills, I asked him and he says it was the sills themselves and not the outer covers. I thought these did not rust that badly? Would that be a bad thing, that it has needed new sills?

By 81 Porsches were heavily galvanised but they are now circa 20 years old & that galvanising has got abraded away over the years. Certainly 944 sill problems are becoming more common & it is a lengthy & terefore costly job to do properly. Not heard so much about 928s having sills done, maybe because the get more care & attention so less likely to rust, better built in the first place or maybe so thirsty that they don't do enough miles to rust
Personally I'd want to know who did them & possibly see some pics. If they are just welded over covers then it'll be being done again in the near future. Mine (944) were multiple layers of thin steel & masses of filler.
