Post subject: | Service History and Paperwork. |
I am lucky in that I own three classic cars as well as a few everyday cars, whilst I,m happy to keep my service history folder and bills for the everyday cars in an ordinary A4 box file, I feel keeping all the paperwork for my classics in these is not good enough, does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can find a decent Box/zip type file (possibly Leather) that would do my classics justice and does not cost £50, £60 or more? Where does everyone keep their paperwork? I look forward to your replies. |

I use document wallets from Staples for my cars. Plastic cover with 50 bonded clear plastic wallets for all the paperwork. Very easy to use and from memory they are around £5. |

I have been looking on the internet and I've found some rather smart leather zip up folios for about £25-£30 each and some pvc/pu one's for around £15-£20 many have ring binders inside which will acommodate those clear plastic sleeves I might keep looking and see what else turns up as I need to buy one for each vehicle. I'll post if anything interesting turns up. |

The Paul Design model looks more like a cover, now my 928 is 18 years old the paperwork is mounting up and besides I need to buy three files/boxes/folios so I,ll keep looking untill I found something that suits my classics. |

I for one would no believe scans. Given how easy it is to fake electronic records, I think that would be a bad move.... Stephen |

They are NOT for permanent storage, as I keep telling people who come in my computer shop to ask why their usb sticks are now blank and they have lost all their family photos etc etc.... All the best Brett ![]() |

Service history for a 928? You could just show them your piles of empty cheque books..... |

How true. Strange how you always get that teeth sucking noise from garages when you ask for a quote for some work as soon as they see it's a 928 and then they say 'That'll be two squillian pounds a pair of bollox please sir' Thank God for the guys on this site they have saved me at least two squillian pounds and my balls as well. |
