Hi, are the heated seats individually fused, my driver one works, but passenger one doesn't, this results in an intermittent whinging sound next to me left ear.

Both seat heaters fused via same 7.5A fuse (position 8 in panel) so not fuse.

My last S4 had opposite problem so no whinging in left ear. I never investigated it but candidates are the switch and the heating element itself (latter more probable).

Look under tips/links/fuse/relay charts on 928 Specialists for your fuses/relays, but there should be a laminated booklet behind cover of central electric panel

Its probably the connections under the seat. They need cleaning and firmly pressing home.
Had mine out a few times due a broken cable (due to the spray shop) and a refurb. They connections are buggers.

Mine had this fault when it came back from the spray shop.
The cable under the seat was frayed on one end.
Needed to get a new cable for just one side of the seat.
(there are two, one short and one long).
On the late GTS model Porsche had economised by cutting out the emergency manual adjustment.
Cheap s**ts. Made moving the seat to get it out a nightmare on my car.

Live and breathe the Marque,
Stephen

Wil have a good look when I get a chance. Didn't get anything done today apart from clear the garage a bit unfortunately!

Best Regards
Paul

:D You can easily get rid of the whinging sound in your left ear at the first bus stop you pass! :D

While I can see that that could fix the immediate problem, it would likely result in a more serious issue further down the line, which may be more expensive to fix.

You can see why the 928 is culturally so at odds - and subject of scorn - with air-cooled 911 enthusiasts when we wring our hands over the heated seats and cruise control! But then this is why the 928 is such a wonderful, complete car.
