Did you see that 928 S4 on ebay yesterday? Listing said it was immaculate, 120k miles, just had cam belt/water pump and it sold for £3700. Practically gave it away. Seller had only owned it 4 months. I wonder what happened? Looks like something scared him into selling. |

Without a proper inspection it's impossible to say if £3700 was a steal or simply the entry fee for new owner to spend another £5000! People are so economical with the truth when describing cars. Alarm bells rang when he mentioned local garage changing pump and cambelt. If this was not a Porsche - preferably a 928 - specialist then I'd be very surprised if they owned such a thing a cambelt tension tool or even the flywheel lock? I wonder what the state was of aircon, suspension, engine mounts, torque tube, flexplate, brakes, MAF, knock sensors, radiator, power steering lines, sump gasket..... |

Hi Adrian ![]() You are absolutely right...if all that lot had been done I would have bought it, then instantly put it back up for sale at around 6 grand.... All the best Brett ![]() |

Yes you are both right of course. The one I bought had most of the above done and it's STILL cost me £2,000 so far, and I have only had it 3 months! It's a superb car though, and much easier to work on than my BMW Z3 was, although neither car is suitable for a beginner in car maintenance. |

It does look like a nice car, the only worry for me with that one would be, how come the corrosion on the rear arches got so bad that metal had to be let in? If the rear arches were that bad what about the rest of the car? I was at a Porsche specialist the other week and they had a very nice looking GTS on the ramps, the car looked mint but underneath was in a poor state. Serious decay on suspension parts etc. |

I have some corrosion in my suspension area as well. Looks like it is something we should all keep an eye open for? |

I did a vehicle check on this S4/GT and it turns out this car started life grey,so I asked the seller this question and he was not sure!! He also didnt show my question with the other questions listed. Just be careful if your bidding on this car as it states painted black with cream leather. |

Hmmm....colour change. I'd want to view before bidding on that. |
