Hi All,

Does anyone know for sure what the part number is for the strap/s that hold the fuel tank in place?

Looking at PET I think it looks like it is 92820131303 but price seems really high for such a basic item.

Anyone any idea for sure?

It was an advisory on the MOT at the weekend.

Thanks
Regards
Paul

I struggled with finding the part no's on PET for the 944,the right hand one is around 70quid or was 3 years ago  Mine is still runing one I fabricated from a strip of ali. And that was a 944 one & everyone knows 928 owners are richer

Hi Paul :)

Now this one i am an expert on lol.....

Mine failed its MOT last year on this...."corrosion on support straps"

I bought one of Paul Andersons special kits...all in one straps/tank holder...

Its absolutely brilliant...he redesigned Porsche's original one and made the straps from STAINLESS STEEL ! so never need changing again.....you also get the fuel cradle in plastic etc, plus stainless bolts etc etc

It is a thousand times better design than the Porsche one and a doddle to fit once old corroded one is stripped off...

MAKE sure you have only a little fuel in tank though (less than a gallon) as you will be holding tank up while fitting the first strap...

He will post to you if you wish....

All the best Brett :)

+1 on the Anderson fuel cradle.

Was one of first things I bought for my previous S4 and Brett is right that it's a brilliant design.

The cradle on my current S4 is actually in very good condition, but when it's time to replace I'll buy another from Paul A.

Cost was just over £200 which is way under Porsche cost for new cradle (which doesn't include pump/filter cover which is probably cruddy if cradle needs replacing).

I don't have PET older than 1988, but looking at 928 Intl looks like p/n for 1985 car is 928 201 313 04? 928 201 313 03 is listed as 80-83.5

Ok, cool. That is that one sorted then. Will get one from Paul once all the other bits have been done.
Thanks for the advice all!

Hi 928GTSM

Always a pleasure to meet another GTS owner.
It is the Porsche Equipment Technical (the Porsche parts CD that covers all the cars).

It's free to download from Porsche's site - it's in the classics section and there's a drop down menu system to locate your car/model.

http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesan ... catalogue/

Invaluable for me. Superb drawings of every system on the car showing what's screwed to what so useful as a workshop manual too. Parts listed meticulously showing alternatives for different years, and important dimensions for things like nuts and bolts so you can source alternatives. It's pdf format, so if you have a part number (stamped on a mysterious chunk that's dropped off your car) you can just punch it in and see what it is and what page it's on.
