This has been for sale for quite some time hasn't it, I'm talking years. I'm sure it was on auto trader and various other sales website's. I seem to remember it was up for £30k so they obviously still can't shift it even with the guaranteed exclusivity.

Sorry - just doesn't "look right". Not my cup of tea, but unique in it's own way.

Casually inspected this car for another member when it was on sale at dealer close to me about a year ago.

It was a bit of a shed tbh, and they wanted even more for it then!

The stuff about the fate of the five Gemballa cars is nonsense.

People who know far more than I about 928s and the rare convertibles are extremely doubtful that this car is as described.

Apart from that it's lovely!

You are right...there is around 80% of that advert is total BS....to start with Porsche NEVER had any Convertibles made by ANYONE.....

The rest is just exaggerated gabble....

There ARE a number of convertibles like that one in both this country , the US and various other countries including even Sweden...

I have also heard a lot about this car, its meant to be in bad condition generally and various people have tried to sell it unsuccessfully (traders)

I am not saying it does not have "some" rarity value but to me its worth around 5k (which I would buy it for) to someone else maybe up to 10k...but 20k is laughable....

Also it's not a Gemballa (who did build some beautiful 928 convertibles, which looked very different from this one) but a Strosek body kit.

When I looked at it I think it had a Gemballa steering wheel (didn't take pictures so not sure) but you can buy various Gemballa bits.

You wouldn't need to crash test two cars out of a run of 5 to comply with German federal regulations, in fact none! I hardly think Porsche Museum would want someone else's modified car when they don't have room for their complete collection (currently there is one early 928 in the new museum)!
