Post subject:  Steering wheel fitment

Hi All,
Does anyone know if the same style 911 steering wheel willl fit a 928?
Part numbers are different, but that might not mean they are different?

Any thoughts welcomed.

Thanks
Regards
Paul

IIRC the 928 wheel is different to the 944 and 911/964

I believe that a 928 uses a splined shaft similar to an earlier Beetle and a pre-1989 911. 1989> 911s have a smaller diamter shaft which is similar to that used in a Super Beetle; K70/Golf; 924/944 & 944/968. Its been a long time since Ive swapped wheels over, so I cant be certain..... The wheels and centres are otherwise identical too.

Hi :)

You can always fit a Momo...like mine...with a square bottom....or any other Momo, although you will need a boss as well, which are around £45...

All the best Brett :)

Hi Brett,

Thought about that, but pretty set on keeping it original.

Was going to get Stephens brother to recondition, but realised its probably beyond it. The centre pad has been painted unfortunately. It's totally ripped to shreds at the top. I think Freddy Kruger was driving it at some time.
