My brother has a 928 S4 secondhand full Blue Flame stainless steel exhaust system for sale.
15 bhp extra, better sound, engine runs cooler and 30% lighter.
Condition is almost like new. No brackets with it.
Cost new (see e-bay) is 595 pounds.
He is asking half of this or best offer.

Thought I'd give you guys the chance before it goes on e-bay....

Hi :)

Not that I need it as I have a Paul Anderson Full Race system on mine, but where did you get the 15 hp extra figure from ?

Extra noise yes, but unless its got X-Pipes as part of it or replacing cats.....then no 15 hp I am afraid...

All the best Brett :)

Hi Brett,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PORSCHE-928-S4-Bl ... 1|294%3A50

From the Blue flame advert. There is a cross piece with the lamba sensor in the first section. These exhausts are really popular on the UK928 list.

Hi Stephen :)

Umm...that system has whats called an H-Pipe...considered old fashioned these days for a 928...

The ones on the UK928 list are what I and most others have...which is an X-Pipe...

On an X-pipe system the two banks of the V8 push exhaust gases out and they go into the X AND cross over into the OTHER pipe going backwards..if you see what I mean...

The reasoning is that the X creates a scavenging effect and actually PULLS more gases from the V8...

That older Blue Flame system on has a balance pipe going across the H...

An X-Pipe "should" give around 15 to 20 hp.....and on a car with blocked cats I have seen a dyno that gave over 60 hp lol...

That H-Pipe.....I seriously doubt even 5 hp...if any...you could always ask them for the before and after dynos :)

Having said all that, your brothers system will cost a huge amount less than the original Porsche syytem and sound better as well :)

Paul Anderson will make you a full system for less than that as well....

All the best Brett :)

Photos of Blueflame exhausts.
Secondhand one is off an early 928 S4.
Front piece looks identical to the front piece off a S4/GT/GTS without cats or boxes.

Hi :)

The back box DEFINITELY will NOT fit an S2 as an S2 has the outlets going out of the rear quarter at 45 degrees.....the S4 rear box comes out straight backwards...like in that picture...

The rest of the system depends on WHICH year S2 you have....if an 86 like mine then yes...if not then no....as its designed for an S4....

I do have a spare RMB (Rear Muffler Bypass) for an S2 ....which is basically a straight through rear box which makes the car sound a LOT better and louder...I used it before I went to my full race system...I would let you have it, if you decide you want one..make me an offer....

All the best Brett :)

Thanks Brett, will let you know. Haven't given the exhaust much thought yet.

Out of interest where do people recommend getting service sundries from? Anyone got any recommendations.

Thanks!
Regards
Paul

PS - Def don't have the battered in corner in the battery box so although the chassis number was big clue, its def a 85 model. Being August it must have been one of the last 85s?

Sadly there does not seem a single 'good' source for everything. I'd advise you to join the 928UK Internet group,
To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit

or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to

The guys there are very knowledgeble and helpful. They include a lot of TiPEC members too.

Stephen

If the exhaust is still available I am interested (My 87 928 has just failed the MOT on the exhaust and Blue Flame are quoting a lead time of 3 weeks for manufacture) issue i have is that the car is being shown at the Silverstone classic next weekend so need to get this one sorted and on the road by then!

Let me know and we can see if a deal can be done and work the logistics.

cheers

Nik
