Dear all

Need your help as I have just bought my first Porsche 928s4, it is fitted with what seems to be a standard Porsche immobilizer and I'm finding it difficult to figure out. it has a remote and a small key type (looks more like a small USB type devise) I have been trying to find the right combination of pressing the remote and inserting the key but not sure how I'm getting it to work, after pressing inserting a few time the car can finally be started but what is the right combination ?

Many thanks :D

John

Hi John
the remote opens the doors and turns off the alarm

the fob is for the immobiliser.

just push fob into the slot and hold until it beeps (3 times i think), then remove and start the car. make sure you hold it still

if you remove it too early or it just beeps once, you have to wait about 30 seconds before you can try again
they can be a bit of a pain but you'll get used to it :D

hope you enjoy the car, oh and get yourself a good multimeter :laughing6:

Hi Jason

Many thanks, that makes sense now, when I bought the car I was told that for some reason the central locking had stopped working and that as far as the dealer was concerned the remote was only for the alarm. What you say makes much more sense, now all I have to do is get the central locking to work. Really appreciate your quick reply, something about have a new toy that you can get to work :D

Cheers

John

Hi Jason :)

Thought you might lol although he got Huntley & Palmer or whatever they are called to refurb the alarm system...

He has new wheels as well and the car is running fine as usual :)

He is still immensely pleased with it :) :) :)

All the best Brett :)
