Post subject: | Clutch Pedal Noise |
I noticed a noise recently from my clutch pedal, sort of a chirping whirring sound, which seemed to disappear if I kept my foot on the clutch pedal slightly. A fellow 928 GT owner checked it out for me and ended up changing the knife edge plastic bearing, which has reduced the noise. Trouble is now there is a more constant, although much quieter noise coming from it, again alleviated by depressing the clutch very slightly whilst driving around. Seems to be worse in 2nd or 3rd gear at around 3000rpm. The pedal action is smooth and seems fine and the gearchange is also fine. Does anyone know if there is some kind adjustment that can be made to finally rid me of this annoying sound? |

Apparently this noise is being created by the clutch release bearing...anyone know any good places to buy a replacement? |

Bert at Berlyn does 928 bits as do most of the others ECP & GSF etc. The big problem is changing it! It's the same as a 944 in that it is either box & torque tube out or engine out. Given the amount of work I'd replace the entire 3 piece clutch whilst there. |
