This seems a perennial problem for Porsche’s of all flavours, mine has decided to play the full scale trick which seems to be cured by replacement.
I have heard that there was a Subaru that used a very similar design and is a fraction of the price, even allowing for thread adaptors or whatever. Does any one know more about this?
Secondly, has any one explored why the senders fail?

Before getting new sender, check whether the sender wire is shorted to ground.

If it is, then the gauge will be pegged full, and it’s wiring issue not sender.
