Hi Folks,

I recently bought myself a 1979 928 Manual (Non Sunroof) with brown leather interior and original stereo.

Based in Ireland just north of Dublin but one of the past owners of my car was a member as the sticker is still on the windscreen, the car was brought over to Ireland in 2010 by the owner I bought it from. Her UK reg was ERC 847T if that helps would be nice to see if the past owner is still on here and let them know their old beast is still alive.

Either way I figured I'd stop by and say hello...

Thank you folks!

Am getting stuck into it this weekend as I've to get the transaxle out and get it reconditioned as it's developed a slight knocking had knew the gearbox was a bit dodgy when buying it so not too fussed. Getting it sent over to Paul Anderson for the work.

Paul does amazing work, there is nobody better :)

Hi Brett,

Thank you for that, I figured being as she's an old girl it best to get the transaxle into Mr Anderson at least he knows where to source parts should anything obscure be needed rather than bring it into a generic gearbox centre that may struggle to get bits or turn out to be not good value.

All in all the car is in good condition and has had a lot of love over it's years and good quality work done to it. During the pre-purchase inspection I had on her by a local indy Porsche specialist he said the work on her was top notch and most likely done in the UK during the cars time there. With an old car there's always something to do so it's more of a labour of love and a bit of fun getting stuck into it.

Got the transaxle out on Saturday with some help from my dad and friend all in all it was not too bad a job and it's on the pallet and on it's way to PA.

Shall be good to get it back but I've got some tidying up to do on some bits to get sorted while that's gone away. Going to attack the fuel lines if I can and might as well sort the handbrake cables that look like they could do with replacing. The list of things to do is a continuous one but that's part of the fun :-)
