Hi All :)

Paul Anderson had a cancellation so he rang me and off at 5 am to his place in Stroud in the morning for new Bilsteins all round and a couple of other suspension bits tomorrow...

Cannot wait lol...like going on my holidays hehe :)

All the best Brett :)

What's prompted this Brett? Old suspension worn out or is it an upgrade? Just gone down the same route on my 944, but waiting on geo next week before making a judgement.

Cheers,
Beyan

Hi Beyan :)

I had a broken spring and knew my shockers were at the end of their life....

As Paul Anderson (928 Guru) has a special deal on at £1200...for all 4 corners including setup and geo it seemed to be time....

I like my 928 low and hard (think 2 inches clearance under front spoiler) for my nitrous runs, but I think the worn shockers are making it a little too hard...

Will let you know once fitted.....

All the best Brett :)

D'OH! Damn that qwerty keyboard.

Best of luck with the work. Pretty sure Paul will be quicker with it than I was on my 944!

Cheers,
BRyan

New Bilsteins on all 4 corners, plus he threw in the fuel line braided hose replacement (to replace a rusty pipe mentioned on MOT advisory)

He also tightened a wheel bearing and threw in a nearly new set of rear springs, where mine were damaged and very rusty....

He also sorted out a tail light warning on dash issue...

All for the grand total of £1200 plus VAT ...exactly as he quoted previously....no extra costs for all the other stuff :) :)

I go there early am and left around 2 pm all done....amazing service for any 928 owner and HIGHLY recommended !!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the best Brett :)

Hi Brett,

Nice to see Paul is living up to his reputation. He's only about 30 minutes about me, so would be handy if I manage to get enough cash from selling my 944 to get a 928. Does he also sell them?

How's the car handling now? Is the difference quite marked?

Cheers,
Bryan

Hi Bryan :)

Yes Paul usually has a few 928s for sale :)

It is quite suprising to me how much better it handles, its still low (my preference)

But as an example, if I let go of the wheel now on a flat road it would NOW carry on in a straight line effortlessly...

Where before although I didnt realise it I was constantly correcting on the wheel....

Its also smoother particularly over bumps, potholes etc....

Very very different to be honest.

Although as my previous shocks were the originals (1986) they did last well....

Worth doing if your shocks are original...

All the best Brett :)
