Post subject: | Recommendations on tensioner/guide pulleys and waterpump |
Hi guys The car spraying has been delayed by winter and so I have moved onto things under the bonnet ! I have spent many hours detailing the engine bay and working my way from the back of the engine bay forwards and I have finally reached the water pump which needs to be done .I know that the Laso water pump with the plastic impeller is considered to be one of the best options but I am finding it difficult to get one anywhere apart from the us (Roger)which I believe to be around the $500 mark plus import duty and post etc, I have seen a few good reviews on the Geba pump and it seems quite good value, Also I require the 2 tensioner/guide pulleys Oem are really expensive so I am looking at the ones on ebay and euro car parts ,My questions are Does anyone know what pumps and pulleys Paul Anderson uses ? Are Geba any good? Are Febi and Ina pulleys good (Ebay) Are Luk and Vm Pulleys any good (Euro car parts) Many thanks Jezzy |

Pktensioner would let you use the older cheaper laso pump and also delete the idler roller. You also wouldn't need to rebuild your old tensioner or buy any tensioning tool. I have one on mine but am using the later pump as i already had it. I'm guessing you've considered all this already though Also could you perhaps contact laso directly and see if they could give you supplier details. Perhaps ther is somewhere in eu. Cheap euro no import duty. |

Don't get a pump with a metal impeller as under certain failure conditions they can eat into the block! ![]() |
