You could try re-building the gear-stick assembly with new plastic washers and fit a quick-shifter?

Hi , I have an early manual with a dogleg box which is typical of the time i.e. sloppy, does anyone here know if the are any mods upgrades out there that could make this better ? Many thanks Jon |

Hi Jon Another area to have a look at is the UJ link on the opperating rod above the torque tube approx a foot (300mm) from the g box. Ask an assistant to give the stick a waggle so you can observe any play present. This may still have a rubber cover over it depending on how perrished it is Phil |
