Hi Guys I think I may need a fuel pump relay. Is there an alternative relay(for another car) that will fit and work in my car ?,The original new ones seem to be either very expensive and the second hand ones difficult to find , Many thanks Jezzy |

I was surprised to find that for your 83 model year, the pump relay is not the cheap and cheerful '53' relay available everywhere. But 928 International in Anaheim is selling used version of your relay fir $25 so you would have it by post in a few days. New ones double that at $50. Is that similar to price here? |

Hi there I have seen relays in this country second hand go for around the £25.00 mark (Rare), I think I may have seen new ones over here for around the £100.00 mark but at that point I went into shock and my mind went blank, so I cant remember where I saw them !! lol. I have found some on the Parts geek website in the Usa and they were around the $30.00 mark but not sure of the postage. I will have to enquire on the postage from the states but I was hoping that I may be able to source a good cheap new one over here.. Many thanks Jezzy |

The $50 new price in the US (£31) would have been a Porsche part. Sad truth is a lot of Porsche parts are 1/3 to 1/4 of the price in the US, despite shipping them there from Germany! Postage for a relay would be very modest and it would be delivered in a few days through regular post. If you get stuck finding one here at similar price I strongly recommend from experience contacting 928 International (Tom Reichenberg) or Roger Tyson (928s R Us). Either will sort you out. |
