Post subject: | Reverse light switch help please |
Hi guys I am in need of a reverse light switch for my 1983 auto and one has come up on eBay, The seller cant tell me if its for a manual or auto ( I think there may be a difference) I have been unable to find much on the web but I have seen two different types one with two holes which I think may be for the manual and one with the button switch in the middle which on rennilist was talked about for the 928 but I am unsure if its the right one ,The listing says that its for 83-90 models but I am still not certain as I think the s2 possibly came out late 83 and mine is definitely an S ,If anyone has any info or pics I would be grateful Many thanks Jezzy eBay item number 400698325711 Listed as Porsche 924 028 944 new reversing light switch |

The switch on ebay is not correct for your car (see picture next post). For 928s there are 3 possible switches with these Porsche part numbers: 914.613.541.02 (all manuals) 000.545.660.6 (4 speed autos which would be 85 onwards) 000.545.420.6 (3 speed autos which is one you need) I think they would be around £50 from OPC. But you'll notice the auto part number is not Porsche format. That's because it is a Mercedes part as it's their auto box! You may be able to quote this number to MB dealer/parts place here but when I have had to get MB parts for auto tranny (when I changed tranny oil the drain plug was NLA from Porsche and I needed new one as someone had mangled the bolt head in past) they use different numbers for different parts of the world. The parts guy just got out a selection and I chose the one I needed! So worth googling some Merc parts places with the 0005454206 |
