Hi,

My dashboad sensor is well cracked, known issue on the temperature sensor plastic.

I have found it in the USA but will cost about £50 landed price

Is there anyone who has sorted this locally in UK/Europe

It seems all one can do is cover the sensor as replacing the sensor is complicated and probably expensive

Cheers

Neil

Hi Neil :)

Umm the sensor will need changing (I did mine years ago) ..because it works in conjunction with the external sensor for your aircon AND normal heating system....

If you just cover it ..you will get HOT air only as a guess....

I bought mine from Porscche and dont remember it (the cover) being expensive....although the sensor including the fan is all one unit and a real knuckle skinner to change,,,,from memory :(

All the best Brett :)

I think Neil's talking about the covers from Jager Engineering like this.

They are purely a cosmetic fix for the annoying sight of the cracked plastic original on the dash, although they cover the original there are still slots to let the air through so functionality is not affected.

I bought one of the matt black aluminium ones from them several years ago and despite the relatively high price it is well made, quick and easy to fit and looks good. I contacted them by e-mail they reduced the postage price quoted on their site as it was such a small and light item.

Hi,

It is the Jagar one or similar and the postage was steep

I am unsure my BIG hands could replace the actual unit so the stick on cover would be ideal in black to match the dash

Good to hear the cover has been recommended here in the UK

cheers

Neil
