Well, the time has finally come to scratch an itch that I have had for a l o n g time.......if anybody is interested in selling their 928 or knows somebody who might me interested in selling, please let me know. My only requirement is that it must be black or silver........I will take it as a given that the car will have been impeccably looked after !! Thanks

Hi Lord

Taking it as a given that a 928 will have been "impeccably maintained" could be a terrible mistake!

Most of them have been neglected at some point in their lives to be honest :)

Good luck with the search...

Llew

Hi Lord,

You've come to the right place - or one of them anyway. You are far more likely to find fastidiously-maintained car from enthusiast. Not invariably but odds favour it.

How rigid are you on colour? I think it's still a buyers' market for 928s. There are lots for sale but there are very few good 'uns. Limiting your colour means you may have a much longer wait for a decent car, but I suppose if you can't live with any other colour then it makes sense, as long as you're not holding out for a 5-speed!

Wiser words from Stratford Shark than my rather flippant comment!

Seriously though, the duffers for sale do outweigh the decent ones.

I keep a very close eye on 928s for sale in the UK and I notice the same cars changing hands pretty regularly with the odd good one dropping into the market periodically.

I know of a top example for sale at present but sadly it's an S2 (86.5) in guards red which isn't what you are looking for.

Where are you based? Also what's made you decide to buy a 928? :)

I have been thinking about one for a couple of years.

My father had a black S2 back in 1986 and the distant memory of flooring the throttle for the first time on my own (as a car mad 18 year old) has stuck with me to this day.

I had a great chat with Paul Anderson earlier, a VERY helpful chap.......he also said I might be waiting a long time if I wanted a manual car........luckily I want an auto :)

I am based in South Manchester and am happy to travel anywhere in the UK for the right car.

There a couple of little clues in the photos that suggest this could be a very nice car...

Looks a great car........I should also have stated earlier that I do not want a blue interior :)

Is anybody familiar with this car ?

Porsche Hatfield had a stunning metallic grey S4 or GTS in their showroom for sale last time I was in there about a month ago.

Will be top dollar no doubt though.

Can't remember the price.

Lord, sorry for the thread highjack.

Llewelyn could you let me know the details of the S2 that's for sale? It would be exactly what I'm looking for. I'll be posting a separate thread regarding my 928 search.

Cheers

Sam

Dick Lovett/OPC Bristol have a grey GTS. Same car? Definitely similar money. Stunning condition with not a stone chip on the body and interior looks brand new.
