Yes, has been mentioned before, see http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1171

I expect this will be Brett's next approach, if the nitrous doesn't make his car go fast enough

Hi :)

No, I would never run a Jet Car...for a very good reason :(

A friend of mine designed and drove the First Jet Car in the Uk...

We (Top Fuel Racers) all told him he was nuts...

Unfortunately, we were right....

I was there on the first time it ran , and helped him fit the fiberglass Funny Car body on it...

He then went on the run (SantaPod) and the turbine blew a rotor and it took his head off :(

The major design flaw was the he sat BESIDE the turbine....

Personally I still think its a major design flaw, and that configuration is still used today with "Fireforce"...a modern day Jet car....

All the best Brett :)
