Post subject:  Will 911 993 teardrop mirrors fit a 928
Hi guys ,Just had a mad moment and decided to bid on some 911 teardrop mirrors for my car ,Now I am worried that they may not fit ,My fault for not checking first I know but I have seen 2 different compatibility charts and one says yes and the other no ,Please help

Hi Jezzy :)

I have heard that ANY teardrop mirrors will work on a 928 , BUT you have to change the bases...cannot remember to what though.... :(

Someone else like Adrian will say....

The other problem, and the reason I never did it to my S2 , is the lack of visibility from teardrops...apparently, its a lot worse than with flags....or so I hear...

Maybe you can tell us if that's true if you do fit them...

Thanks for implying omniscience Brett, but I am woefully ignorant about the mirrors! PO changed my flags to teardrops so can confirm that compared to my last S4 which had the flags, view is more restricted. The flags give a fantastic amount of vision.

You are right though about needing new bases.

Never had a problem with visibility with mine, once I'd fitted RHD lenses. :lol:

You may need an in-line relay to get them to work though? Mine were from a 928 GTS.

Can confirm visibility is fine with teardrops, and they look great! I never feel safety compromised by them.

Was just spoilt in past by the huge view I'd get with flags - best I'd experienced from door mirrors on any car I'd driven.

Hi guys,, Thanks for the reply's, I had a word with the seller and I retracted my bid,I am going to leave it for now .Does anyone know how much the bases are the allow the mirrors to fit a 928 ? It would be handy to know for the future in case I decide to get a set
