Can anyone tell me what the deal is with the wheel arch linings on the rear of a 928 S4. Are they similar on both sides? On the passenger side there appears to be a front lining and a rear lining. The two parts together protect the whole wheel arch. Is this the same on the driver’s side? There doesn't appear to be a rear lining on the driver’s side. I don't know if that is supposed to be there or not. I read a comment somewhere suggesting the rear part was only on one side to protect some hardware on that side.

The reason I ask is I was involved in a small rear end shunt recently that upset the wheel linings. I don't know if that bit came out and got lost or if it should never have been there in the first place. Thi bit in question is this

Cheers,

..., if you have lost the bit in the picture, then you do need one., the driver side rearmost part of the wheelarch does,nt have a plastic liner, at least mine does,nt and there are no attachment points where one might have been. I had thought about making one using the passenger side rear as a template, and find some suitable black plastic.., so to re=cap there are only 3 protectors in total ?
crazy really as it would protect the petrol filler/cap area .

Thanks Ken. I won't beat the mechanic up about replacing a part that wasn't there to begin with. Seems odd that Porsche didn't put one there.
