Hi there

My bonnet insulation has disintegrated and I am wondering if I should replace it,What is the main purpose of it? ,Is it to protect the paintwork on the bonnet or for sound ? I have seen an s4 on you-tube that had silver reflective foil instead of the foam ,Is this a good replacement ? ,I dont really want to pay what I have seen replacement foam going for (around £80.00) Is there a cheaper alternative that is as good ?

Many thanks Jezzy

I bought this reflective radiator stuff from B+Q , it,s been on for at least 10 years now, and still ok. Where the joints are I used some chrome type adhesive tape, never budged.

...., sorry had to remove pic, as it came out on here bloody massive !!!!! :? ,

Hi :)

I removed the remains of mine years ago (was fed up getting bits in my hair when working on the engine)

No difference at all to heat or sound...

Getting the remnants off is a pig of a job though, there is a CPC glue remover that makes it drastically easier though...

All the best Brett :)
