To round off a rather unlucky weekend with the Porsches (clutch gone on 924s) I have just come back from a spin in the 928 and have a water leak.

I pulled up at a junction about a mile from home and noticed steam coming from under the bonnet. :angry5: Temperature gauge was normal so I got the car back home without any issue. Lifted the bonnet and there is water all over the engine bay  Looks like the radiator but can't be sure and I'm not inclined to start looking today. Fed up with cars this weekend :(

That's a b****r Paul sorry to hear. Hope it's just a hose.

May not even be a split in top or bottom hose, but just slightly loose at a clamp as an old hose has softened.

Also don't overlook the very short few inches of hose between the engine block and the heater valve, under the air filter. This is well-known failure point. With the pressures involved and steam etc the leak could be here even if coolant has reached a long way away in the bay.

It stopped raining today long enough for me to take a look and confirm the radiator has gone :(

Will probably see if I can get it re-cored

I have the same problem myself ,Please let me know how much if you get a quote? I have my eyes on a second hand one but a re-core will give piece of mind as apposed to wondering if the second hand one will be ok

Many thanks Jezzy

Got the re-cored radiator back and fitted last weekend - £270. Nice work and a decent chap. http://westmerciaradiators.co.uk/

Would use again - no connection with business :D
