Hi All :)

I like my 928 to be a little unusual or even unique, so I am considering either GULL WING or SCISSOR (LAMBO) doors…

I have done some research, but would also like any input from anyone here…

Good idea, bad idea?

Opinions on the concept or opinions on the actual engineering (strength of roof or hinge panel) , or suppliers etc etc.. ?

All the best Brett :)

Hi Brett.
I like the idea of the gullwing doors, the lambo type always look a bit tacky on anything other than lambos IMO
The other thing is when the prices of our cars rise which i am sure they will soon will you be left with something thats worth very little? I remember all the escorts mk1 golfs etc which in the 80s were "enhanced" with bodykits which are now snubbed as messed up by the purist brigade.
I would think before you get out the angle grinder ! :D

cheers Grahame

Hi Grahame :)

The last Escort MK 1, I saw for sale was 15k lol....I was stunned when I saw that price...

Somehow the attractions of my 928 might not be seen by the purists anyway :)

All the best Brett :)

Hi Brett, theres a guy sells parts on e-bay calls himself paddy911t who has a 944 with doors which open upwards in line with the side of the car,not proper gull wing I know, but worth a look if you can find him. Might be worth a chat with him. It would certainly be a good idea for the supermarket car park!
