Hi ![]() Mine used to do that just after I bought it...lack of use i think.... Try this....next time it doesnt start as soon as you move....CLOUT the speed hard lol... It worked for me and after a couple of weeks it seemed to cure it....very occasionally it happens now (maybe 3 times a year) But I have a digital speedo now so it doesnt matter... All the best Brett ![]() |

Maybe you need to replace the speedometer cable? they can become frayed and then twist until it starts working again - causing it to work erratically. |

Oh sorry, I just checked Pelican Parts and... 928's have electronic speedometer which requires this sender. If your gauge dies completely, then be sure to check this sender first. 928-606-210-00-M100 |

My first 944 s2 did the same, it was a cheap fix, just the sender unit, i did not replace it myself as it was done with other mot work so i dont know if you can do it on your drive. |

Well, you could take the instrument cluster out and give it a clean somehow, maybe use a vacuum as it may have some dirt making the needle stick and use a bit of GT85 spray? God, I need to stop writing on here and get myself outside working on my own car, lol |

Likeliest cause is edge connectors at base of pod getting dirty. I think on earlier 928s you can just reach them from underneath, disconnect and then clean the contacts. I would use contact cleaner on a cotton wool bud but others have used pencil eraser. |
