Prices seem to have sunk to an all-time low I'm not sure why this is, maybe the recession we are in, or the record high price of fuel But the best 928 S4 "Digi Dash" are selling on ebay for about £4,000 My old S4 just sold for £4,100 and it the bodywork was perfect on it, plus all the 928 issues had been sorted including a new gearbox I looked on completed listings and other S4's have sold recently for under 4k At this price values can only go up, but at the moment the 928 is in my opinion a bargain that surely cannot last |

I have noticed the current low prices and am keeping my eyes open for a nice one. I'm not sure if I can live with an auto or not though. I don't want to compromise on colour either and ideally want black or slate grey. Just need to sit patiently and wait. |

Hi Mike The dogleg manual gearbox takes a bit of getting used to and the clutch is,nt the lightest iv,e ever driven but its a supercar and not a girls shopping car i loath automatic gearboxes as i feel you are not really driving the car its driving you.But having said that auto boxes do suit big engines. Test drive both and see what you think . I,d have a manual anyday but i live in rural devon cheers Grahame |

Oh indeed how the prices are so low. I own a 944 S2 and I love it more than life itself but there is a nagging in the back of my head which keeps telling me "It's not a 928, it's not a 928". Gosh I really want to buy a 928 but two things worry me and hold me back. 1) I have to have a manual gear box. Never liked an auto and never will. 2) Buying a 928, you have yo get the right one for you. The right one for me has just gone on sale. Low milage GT in red. Man it looks beautiful but I simply cannot afford it at the moment. I'm on a 2 - 3 year saving plan so I hope by the time I get there the prices are still affordable and there are still some well looked after manual examples around. An S4 with Manual box would do me just fine some some of the interior designs are a little garish which is in complete contrast to others which are simply beautiful. If anyone buys this car can you at the very least let me meet up with you and have a quick spin in it? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3752683.htm MY GOD DO I WANT THIS CAR. |

...., I can see why, thats a really nice 928..., as regards the heavy/long pedal travel on manual cars, mine is very easy to operate, I did have the box rebuilt and new clutch fitted in 95, and also given the city aspect, it will tootle along in any reasonable gear without protest, negating the frequent changing of gears. In fact I own a Clio 1.4 which is a general runabout and the clutch on that is heavier than my 928 (fact) come and try it . On the other hand I have a 4x4 with a lovely auto-box just to confuse . |

I'm not the biggest fan of auto' boxes, but I have to say it suits the 928. I don't have any issues. I don't get left for dead following Ferrari's or 911's on a Pistonheads run. And it's what the car was built for. ![]() There are a few crackers for sale on the 928 UK site just now. I'm thinking of selling, and keep finding it harder every time I see them for sale and remember how good it is to drive. ![]() |

I'm assuming the value of the 928 must start going up soon simply because they are still being broken up and scraped at an alarming rate and becoming so rare. I haven't seen another one on the road now for over a year. Mine just flew through its MOT. ![]() It has a minor gearbox issue which is being fixed next week then its all set for the summer.
