Just pulled the TB covers on my 87 S4 to replace WP, Tensioner,TB, crank and oil pump seals etc.
O/S cam sprocket has leading edge section missing which has lost the cam timing notch. Lucky I have found this now as there are metal particulates in the TB cover which for certain would have lead to the TB failing with disasterous results.

Does any one out there have a set of sprockets either good used or new for sale. Part numbers 928 105 530 01. Porsche have superceeded with 928 105 530 04 but at huge cost.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I bought a used set from a german vendor but they are scrap!

Many thanks

Adrian.

I think Roger Tyson at 928's R US sell them. Don't know what the postage is from the USA though? There is Simon Watson on 07970 840959, he might have a set from an S4 he broke for spares?

What do Porsche ask for them now?

I have brand new pair but m saving for next TB job. I got them a couple of years ago from 928 International and they weren't too expensive (can look up what I paid).

Have seen discussion on Rennlist recently about them being NLA at least for a period - Lee is correct that Roger will know exact situation.

Was there not a discussion about changing to lightweight alloy ones from steel? Or am I thinking of rollers?

Op, hi and welcome. :hello2: If you're going in and about the belt and sprockets, perhaps the tensioner Roger sells would be of interest? Stops having the fiddle with the OE tensioner apparently, although I haven't fitted one myself?

There might be someone on the 928UK mailing list with some? You could try there? :D

Gentlemen,

Thanks for your kind responses, still no luck. I spoke with Simon, a charming man, but without success. I can buy from PAG but they have hiked the cost dramatically.
Does any one have or know of a good used pair sprockets 928 105 530 01 that I can buy.

Thanks
Adrian
