This has to be worth it for the plate alone.

This ones not a bad proposition either.

Its got a brand new manual gearbox, apparently. and cup II wheels. Those two items alone would cost ££££££££.

Fair comment, however my understanding is (but maybe I'm wrong) that the car has to have an MOT before the plate can be sold or transferred.

Anybody?

JW is right. You need to get it MOT'd to transfer. Does the engine need to be running to get an MOT? Emissions?

My understanding is that, if it's not there, they can't test it. For instance, if you take the windscreen out, they can't issue a failure notice for a chipped/scratched screen. Therefore, if you took it for a test and there was no engine fitted, they could not test for emissions and you would get a pass.

Think that may be pushing it a bit!! I doubt for example a car with no brakes would get a pass just because they weren't there

So what's the catch?

As you can see this is my first post, hello. I have registered so that I can ask this one question.

I am not in a position to buy (impending house extension) but I was browsing Ebay and saw this car.

I am looking for a project and this looks like a good deal, am I missing something?

Cheers.

Chris

The cost of resurrecting a dead 928 can be thousands.
and as a good one can be had for under £5,000 nobody would want to sink the money into a dead one.

But if you cannot afford it at the moment then it's not such an issue anyway.

Thank you.

Yes I have noticed that ones in better order can be bought for a few thousand.

I hope you are able to get one soon.

Don't forget to budget for maintenance/jobs. See if there's a specialist near to you.
