Hi all
I am afraid i have to have everything working on a car and have fixed most things now that were broken and have got to the intense wash system .When i press the button under the dash it works continuesly until all the fluid has gone.As i understand it should be controlled by a timer.
The question i have, is the timer incorperated in the relay on the main fuse box or is it seperate and hidden away? or maybe the switch is at fault.Sorry if this is a picky little fault  but i just cant leave it not working! :(
Cheers Grahame

That's great that you're working through so many systems and fixing them. I'm the same abiut getting everything working - current projects are getting the door lock post LEDs to flash and replacing a single blown illumination bulb in pod.

Yes the timed power to intensive wash controlled by relay on CE panel.

You don't say what MY you have unless I overlooked it - relay positions changed year to year so I can't tell you what position it's in.

One thing you may want to double check is that the correct relay is in the correct position for intensive wash - it is possible to put the wrong relay in there. You will need tonchecknagainst the relay chart for your MY (will be on back of relay panel cover).

Hi Adrian
my car is a 1987 928 s4 5 speed manual . i have looked on the ce index and the relay is ix and is stated as supplementary cleaning system i shall have a look at the relay on sat and check that it is the correct one , i see there is one on ebay at the moment . i think its the timer at fault may just need the relay taking out and cleaning the connections fingers crossed
thanks for your reply

That's a rare one Grahame. Is it actually MY 87 or just registered then. If the former then must have the super rare hinged spoiler!

Hi all
Ive only owned it since august this year i bought it from a chap in plymouth who had owned it for about 16 years it was first registered march 1987 on D plate bought from the then parkes Exeter. It has full service porsche history and 75 .000 miles on it .
I didnt realise it had the hinged spoiler untill i shut the hatch down and it sprung up i thought i had broken it!
Why did porsche delete the hinged spoiler ? Surely it was,nt down to costings not at 50 odd thousand pounds when it was new
I will try and get some photos uploaded but will get my kids to do it as im a bit phobic on computers :)

Good fix Grahame and good find on the relay - eBay and 928s are natural allies.
