Hi Euan they often appear on ebay for alot less than new .I have been told that the original porsche ones have a high stainless steel content and rarely rust not sure how true this is.Perhaps someone with more knowlege can confirm this . Has yours rusted? Cheers Grahame |

There is a guy on the 928 uk mailing list called Simon Watson who is breaking a few S2's. If you want his name and number, send me a PM. |

Thanks for answering Grahame and Lee. It is the first silencer after the downpipes that has rusted. The 2 rear silencers appear to be original stainless steel and are in good nick. I have been watching ebay and just missed an x pipe which looked like a replacement for the front silencer. The new silencers I have seen are all a fortune.I will try Simon Watson Lee. |

I'd quite like to remove the silencers on mine, i'm wondering if it would spit flames as well if it was straight through. |

NO front boxes at all , replaced by X-PIPE and straight through 3 inch race pipe, NO middle resonators ..replaced with straight through 3 inch race pipe, 1 rear straight through twin box (the new S4 ones that Paul Anderson makes and sells...) So basically for my Nitrous that NEEDS the least exhaust resistance possible, I have ONE rear straight through box.... And its LOUD ...very very LOUD...THINK 130 plus decibels at 6000 revs (and mine goes over 8000), cannot measure that though as my decibel meter only goes to 130 lol ![]() I videoed mine once on a dyno and had GREEN flames out of the exhaust lol... All the best Brett ![]() |

Sounds good. I noticed when mine was up on a ramp that the rear muffler is welded to the middle pipe, is that common? Probably better off getting the whole thing replaced in future. Need to get it back so i can use it first. |
