Hi,

what are the radio connections on a 79 928? I've bought one and will hopefully be driving it home in a few weeks (pending MOT), but it doesn't have a stereo in it at the moment. I presume in 79 they didn't have ISO connections. Although, I might just enjoy the music of the V8....

Is there an adapter available to convert from the 928 wiring to an ISO? Ideally I'd like to put in a Porsche stereo with CD but might grab an old one from the press for now.

Kev.

Unlikely to be ISO unless someone has put one in before.
I converted my 944 to ISO with a lump of choccy block & an ISO to wire tails lead.
Took around 45 minutes with a multi meter but I did do it for a living at one point!

Hi Jim,

don't suppose you have a wiring diagram for that, or what each wire should connect to in the ISO harness?

The Porsche end should be as per the manual, but SO many cars I've owned have had the radio wiring mullahed & adapted, that I only trust a meter. You only need a test light really to find continuous live, switched live & a good ground. The speaker wires can be found with a 1.5Volt battery & listening for the click.
