Hi all
Does anyone know what the rocker switch on the carpet area next to the headlamp height adjuster does?.Ithought it was a after market fitment but just had a look at a later GTS 928 on pistonheads for 25000! and it has the same switch as mine. my car is a 87 manual s4 by the way
I says nothing about it in my owners manual

It's termed the "vent switch" and should be in your owner manual. Disables alarm from operating as a result of air movement in cabin if you have the ultrasonic detectors, and want to arm alarm but leave windows and sunroof open on a hot day. On my S4 with The H&P remote locking fitted I think it also inhibits the windows and roof from closing if they are open when you operate remote locking.

All 928s had factory alarm, but Porsche GB sometimes supplemented this with alarm with extra sensors and/or remote locking. Can't tell is yours was supplemented in this way without close look. The LEDs flashed different patterns if the vent switch was engaged, to warn you that the cabin movement sensors were deactivated.
