I've had her for about a month, I'm still getting to know her. The more I do with her the more I love driving her.

She went in for a service Saturday, the out come was

The rear axel has to be dropped to renew all the seals
Needs a new compressed for the air con
In fuel injectors need removing and new seals
Lots of electrics
New pump for Windscreans washers

Can't think what else was needed

But it's going to cost about £1100 to sort her out.

Can't wait to get her back on Saturday

If the rear axle is being dropped its probably worth having all the fuel system pipes checked out while its down, as well as the fuel tank and its straps.

Now, have you had the cambelt changed yet ;).

Hi mark.
I have had my 928 s2 about a month as well and like you i am still getting to know her. Some electrical issues like no lights on the a/c console no boot release no a/c as it happens, hot air only no air to the foot well but apart from that she runs very well.

Hi Martin

Are you on the 928UK list?

On your list of things to fix:

- by aircon console light do you mean the panel which carries the a/c button, or the temp controller above it?

- does hatch release motor run when you operate switch, or does motor run but hatch not release?

- hot air from heating problem very common problem and a pretty straightforward system to check through. You maY have combination of problems with various vacuum actuators, cabin temp sensor or external temp sensor. Can point you to great troubleshooting sites if you like but good start is to google for Wally Plumley's excellent explanation of 928 HVAC system.

Ye the ac button lights up but nothing else.
I believe the piston has been removed from the back according to the service history so the boot will never work.
Will need to get on the mailing list.
Any further help is very welcome.

Hi Martin

Nothing else should light up on that console (warning light only if fault, central locking when engaged)! The fan knob is not illuminated. There is a single bulb and fibre optics to illuminate temp slider.

No need to remove anything in hatch lock even if it doesn't operate. Curious. May be simple to reinstate electric release.

Do join the list on 928.org.uk and lots of knowledgeable owners on there.

I see, well its just the temp slider that doesnt light up.
Will need to investigate the boot release then.

I don't think my 928 would still be on the road if it wasn't for the UK list. List gives out so much info', and Mike Dowie keeps us entertained by locking his keys in the car. :lol:

Hi Mark,

If your MAF simply needs recalibrating, rather than has a more serious fault, then you can have it expertly recalibrated for fraction of cost of replacement. The standard exceeds that of Bosch itself!

Well guys i got her back over a week ago, cost £2200 and its still not finished, not happy. But got the light relay from Adrain, and changed all the fuses and now she runs like a different car.
Still no A/c and a couple of other little things that ive already paid for, so i wont take her back to the mercanic. Will get the bits n do myself

Hi Mark :)

To be honest its better to do the jobs yourself as at least you know they are done correctly :)

Most of us have "lists" of jobs to do on our 928s its a matter of priority which jobs get done first lol, as the list rarely ever gets finished ...

Ask here if you need advice on how to do any jobs as between us we will have done most of them lol...

Brett, after going to Byfleet about a month ago, ive got a list lol. Most of the things on it are stupid, but i will make my way through them.
By the way the mercanic that i paid to do the work never did some of the jobs :-( so i should of done them myself.
