Good morning guys n girls, I'm still having problems with my 928 stalling while pulling away, normally when cold. I've taken all the relays out except 2 that were stuck and the cases came off. Must remove them and replace. So do you think it's the fuel injection system or electrical? Thanks for looking Mark |

Thanks for looking Mark Hi MARK ![]() A year and model would help ? Thats so we know whether its K-Jetronic or LH ETC... Also what are the idle revs at the moment ? they should be around 750 to 800. You know there is a "tickover" screw which you could try and increase ? Could you describe exactly when and how it stalls ? All the best Brett ![]() |

Brett, Thank you, that's the same system as my 280 Capri. I have given the throttle cable adjustment about 1.5 turns. It seems better already. I need to get some sort of manual for the old girl Once again many thanks Mark |

Guys, I've had most of the jobs done on my baby and she has started to stall again when pulling away when cold. She's a 1987 s4 auto. Any ideas ? Thanks for looking Mark |

Hi Mark, Your car magically upgraded from 1986 S to 1987 S4! So some of Brett's suggestions apply to the earlier S2 engine, not the S4. I would look first at the Temp II sensor (as you face engine, left side of coolant bridge). Pull off 2 pin connector and measure resistance from each electrode to ground. Then repeat readings at the LH and EZK ecu plugs (since you may have intermittent wiring problem between the sensor and the ECUs). When i checked your car at Tilford using JDS Spanner there were no temp II faults, but we did clear memory first so could be intermittent. Also take a pic of the wiring at that sensor and post it here. Is the connector in good condition? |

Adrain, yes it's magic. After our meeting I was told she's a 1987 model even though she was registered in 1986. I don't think I'm clever enough to do those tests, but will have a look. Also the coolant light comes, do you know where the sensor is? Have a great weekend mate, All the best Mark |

Mark do you mean the coolant level warning? It's a float sensor in neck of coolant reservoir I think. I bet you can do the temp sensor test in your sleep. You just need multimeter and I'm sure you need one of those for a Capri sometimes! |
